About the Family
A warm and involved family in Columbus Circle is seeking an experienced, bilingual Spanish/English nanny to care for their 15-month-old daughter and grow with their family long-term.
The parents are hands-on and value kindness, consistency, structure, and open communication. Their screen-free home emphasizes conversation, books, play, outings, and learning. Spanish language development is also an important part of their daughter’s upbringing.
The family also spends time at their Hudson Valley home and travels regularly. They are looking for someone who is flexible, easygoing, proactive, and genuinely interested in becoming a trusted part of their family for years to come.
Position Overview
The nanny will provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care and create an engaging and structured daily routine. The family is seeking a nanny who enjoys getting out with the children for walks, playground visits, classes, playdates, and other activities while encouraging learning, curiosity, and independence throughout the day.
They value someone who communicates well, brings their own experience and initiative to the role, and works collaboratively as part of the household. Flexibility for time at the family’s Hudson Valley home and travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide warm, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care
- Create and maintain consistent daily routines and schedules
- Plan age-appropriate activities, outings, classes, playdates, and other enrichment
- Support developmental milestones, learning, independence, and bilingual Spanish language development
- Transport children safely to activities, school, appointments, and outings
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children and occasionally assist with family meal preparation
- Manage children’s laundry, toys, belongings, and child-related areas
- Keep children’s supplies stocked and organized and proactively identify changing needs as they grow
- Assist with child-related errands, grocery shopping, and travel preparation
- Provide light household support during the day, including loading/unloading the dishwasher and being present for occasional household appointments or deliveries
- Maintain open communication with the parents and work collaboratively with the family
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of professional nanny experience, including experience with multiple children
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Previous travel experience with families preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified
- Non-smoker/non-vaper
- Highly reliable, organized, proactive, and self-directed
- Flexible, easygoing, and comfortable in an active household
- Strong communicator and collaborative team player
- Demonstrated longevity in previous positions strongly preferred
- Comfortable growing with the family as they welcome additional children
Accommodations
Live-In: Private accommodations will be provided in NYC, at the family’s Hudson Valley home, and while traveling.
Live-Out: Private accommodations will be provided when staying with the family in the Hudson Valley and while traveling.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Starting at approximately $40/hour gross; approximately $115,000+ annually, depending on live-in/live-out arrangement, experience, and qualifications. An hourly breakdown, including applicable overtime rates, will be provided.
