We recommend beginning your search at least 4 weeks prior to your preferred start date.
The duration of the process will vary depending on factors such as your responsiveness, the availability of qualified candidates, the job criteria, and your location.

We’re not entirely sure because it’s undeniably a risky practice!
Up until recently, the nanny industry in the U.S. was largely unregulated, but that has changed as both employers and nannies have become more informed about the potential risks and advantages—especially after numerous issues with illegal pay surfaced during the pandemic. The IRS actively monitors such infractions, and nannies are increasingly more aware of the repercussions.
Hiring a nanny illegally can often result in audits, fines, and lawsuits for the parents, and nannies miss out on vital protections, including unemployment and workers’ compensation benefits.
Professional nannies expect legal pay, just like employees in any other career. The responsibility will always fall on you, the employer. We’re here to help you understand the risks and navigate legal pay.
