Live-in Full-Time Nanny / House Manager | Mamaroneck, NY

Location: Westchester, New York
Schedule: Monday-Friday approximately 7:00am – 7:00pm
Children: Three girls, ages 12, 12, and 6

Position Overview

A close-knit, active family in Mamaroneck, New York, is seeking an experienced full-time Nanny / House Manager to join their household.

Both parents work full-time and are looking for a dependable professional they can trust to provide warm, attentive care for their children while helping the household run smoothly.

The children’s care, safety, and well-being are the primary focus of the role. While the children are in school, the Nanny/House Manager will focus on household management, organization, errands, and family-related administrative responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, proactive, and highly organized. They take initiative, anticipate what needs to be done, and enjoy creating a well-run, supportive home environment.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Provide nurturing, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care for the children
  • Help the children get ready for school, prepare breakfast, and ensure they have everything they need for the day
  • Handle school and activity drop-offs and pick-ups (driving)
  • Homework help
  • Safely transport the children to activities, appointments, and other commitments
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children, including dinner
  • Engage the children, particularly the youngest, in age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
  • Maintain consistent routines and help keep the children organized and on schedule
  • Manage the children’s laundry, including folding, putting clothing away, rotating seasonal items, and organizing clothing they have outgrown
  • Encourage the older children to take age-appropriate responsibility for their rooms, laundry, dishes, and personal belongings
  • Support the children’s learning, independence, curiosity, and development
  • Keep the children’s bedrooms and play areas, as well as the kitchen and main living spaces used throughout the day, tidy and organized

Household Management

  • Maintain a tidy, organized household and proactively address day-to-day needs
  • Manage the family calendar using Google Calendar, including school, activities, appointments, and other commitments
  • Keep track of school and activity paperwork, forms, deadlines, and related details
  • Coordinate with and oversee household vendors and contractors as needed
  • Assist with family travel arrangements, including research, booking, packing, and preparation
  • Research children’s activities, camps, classes, and other opportunities
  • Run household and family errands, including grocery shopping, clothing alterations, returns, and other requests
  • Run and empty the dishwasher as needed and help maintain an orderly kitchen
  • Take out trash and recycling as needed
  • Help manage child- and family-related household responsibilities and proactively identify tasks that need attention

Household Environment

The family has a weekly cleaning service, and deep cleaning is not expected as part of this role. The family is seeking someone who takes pride in maintaining an organized home, follows a clean-as-you-go approach, and naturally pitches in where needed to keep the household running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional nanny and/or household management experience
  • Significant experience caring for school-aged children
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • 2–3 relevant professional references
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and experience driving children professionally (a family car will be provided for use on the job)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Comfortable managing household calendars, schedules, and family logistics
  • Flexible with occasional schedule changes and family travel
  • Comfortable with dogs; the family has a friendly, medium-sized dog
  • Warm, engaging, dependable, proactive, and highly organized
  • Strong communication skills and sound judgment
  • Comfortable taking initiative and working independently

Compensation & Benefits

  • $120,000–$140,000 annual compensation, based on experience and qualifications
  • Legal pay on a W-2
  • Overtime paid in accordance with applicable New York State employment laws
  • Two weeks of paid vacation
  • Five paid sick days
