About the Family:

Loving fathers are seeking an experienced, dependable nanny/family assistant for their twin boys. Both parents work full-time, primarily outside the home, with a few days each week spent working from a private home office. They value a knowledgeable and proactive caregiver who will engage the children in play and activities, support their development, and help keep the household running smoothly, particularly during the boys’ four-hour school day.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who truly enjoys working with children and is interested in becoming a meaningful part of their lives for years to come.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is warm, patient, proactive, and physically active. They are confident managing the needs of toddlers and school-aged children and enjoy creating a structured, nurturing environment that supports learning, independence, and exploration. The nanny should be self-directed, able to use downtime productively by assisting with household tasks, and discreet and professional in the home.

Experience working with families on the UES and/or a background in early childhood education, Montessori, or RIE is highly valued. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential, as the nanny will work closely with the parents as part of a team. The ideal candidate values community connection, embraces and respects diverse family structures, and is comfortable working in a two-father household.

Core Responsibilities:
Childcare 
  • Dress the children and prepare them for the day
  • School/daycare drop-off and pick-up
  • Plan and engage the children in fun, age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
  • Maintaining the children’s nap and eating schedules
  • Read to the children and encourage language development through play, conversation, and daily activities
  • Accompany the children to activities, appointments, and playdates
  • Support bath and bedtime routines on occasion 
  • Children’s laundry
  • Keeping the home’s main spaces and the children’s areas clean and tidy
  • Partner with the parents to support the children’s development and maintain open daily communication
Family‑Assistant Support (during school hours)
  • Grocery shopping and household errands
  • Meal preparation for the children and occasional family meal preparation
  • Manage laundry, including children’s laundry and, if agreeable, family laundry
  • Unloading the dishwasher and tidying up after the children’s meals
  • Proactively assist with household organization and day-to-day tasks that help the home run smoothly and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time nanny experience
  • Previous experience caring for twins or multiple young children of a similar age
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S 
  • Warm, energetic, and engaging approach, with the ability to keep up with active 2.5-year-olds
  • Vaccinated (or willingness to become vaccinated/boosted), including MMR, Tdap, annual flu, and COVID-19
  • Excellent professional references
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to get it renewed)
  • Availability for occasional domestic travel 

Nice to Haves (not requirements)

  • Fluency in another language, Albanian and/or Spanish, is a plus
  • Background in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Montessori, or RIE
  • Availability to accompany the family to Fire Island during the last week of August
  • Experience working with UES families and familiarity with the NYC private school landscape
  • Comfortable swimming and supervising children around water during occasional travel, including a family trip to Fire Island each August.

Compensation: Starting at approximately $40/hour base rate gross, depending on experience, credentials, and willingness to take on family assistant responsibilities. Overtime is paid at 1.5x the regular rate for hours worked over 40 per week. Estimated annual compensation is approximately $114,000+. Employment will be paid legally on a W-2 basis.
