#621 – Temporary Nanny Needed in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn

General schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The family is flexible and willing to adjust the schedule for the right candidate, including the possibility of a morning schedule of approximately 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m

About the Family: Loving first-time parents are seeking an experienced, supportive, and knowledgeable nanny for their baby girl. They value open communication, collaboration, and fostering their child’s curiosity and development through both independent and interactive play.

Both parents work full-time. Mom works a hybrid schedule, and Dad works from home. Their daughter is happy, curious, and beginning to crawl.

This position is expected to run through October, when the child is anticipated to begin daycare, though there may be an opportunity to extend beyond that date.

The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, reliable, calm, adaptable, and safety-conscious, with significant experience caring for infants and toddlers. The family values a balanced approach to development and is seeking a nanny who understands the importance of fostering independence through age-appropriate exploration and independent play, while also providing attentive, nurturing support. Candidates should also be comfortable around dogs, as the family has a small-to-medium-sized dog. While not required, Mandarin-speaking nannies are encouraged to apply, as Mom is a native Mandarin speaker.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Actively engage the child in fun, age-appropriate activities
• Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones
• Bottle feedings and sterilization of the baby’s equipment 
• Diaper changes and supporting healthy hygiene
• Maintaining the child’s nap and eating schedules (taking cues from the baby)
• Managing infant laundry 
• Restocking child-related items and the diaper bag
• Walks, reading, indoor and outdoor play
• Preparing meals once solids are introduced 
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized child-related environment
• Mom is breastfeeding, and on days she is working from home, the nanny will support the feeding routine by bringing the baby to her for nursing when convenient; the nanny will bottle feed the baby other times

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant nanny experience
• 2+ years of experience working with infants 
• Legally permitted to work in the U.S. 
• 2-3 excellent references
• Able to commit to the entire contract
• Resides within a reasonable distance to Carroll Gardens
• Infant CPR and First Aid certified 
• Vaccinated
• Pet friendly 

Compensation: $35–$40/hour gross, based on experience. Monthly OMNY card provided.
