Temporary Nanny | Upper East Side, NYC 

Dates: September 21st – October 9th

Schedule: Monday through Friday, from approximately 8:00/8:15 am–6/6:30 pm

Children’s ages: 3 years old and 1 year old

 

Position Overview

A warm Upper East Side family is seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable temporary nanny to care for their two children while their longtime nanny is away for three weeks.

The family has two children: a daughter who attends school Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 2:30pm and a younger son who will be home for most of the day. Their son’s schedule includes activities throughout the week.

The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, communicative, and highly organized. The family particularly values someone who can keep track of the children’s schedules and activities, take initiative throughout the day, and maintain a tidy and organized environment.

Ideally, the candidate will also have some availability toward the end of the week of September 14 for paid overlap with the family’s current nanny.

Responsibilities

  • Providing attentive and engaging care for both children
  • Pick up and drop off the older child to and from school, approximately a 5–10 minute walk from the family’s home
  • Taking the younger child to age-appropriate activities throughout the week
  • Planning activities and outings during the day
  • Preparing and serving simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children
  • Diapering and other age-appropriate care for the younger child
  • Keeping track of the children’s schedules and daily activities
  • Children’s laundry and organization as needed
  • Tidying children’s spaces and cleaning up after meals, play, and activities
  • Maintaining a clean and organized environment throughout the day
  • Communicating clearly with the parents regarding the children and their day

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant nanny experience with similar age groups
  • 2–3 relevant professional references
  • Comfortable taking initiative and working independently
  • Legally permitted to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent communication skills

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience
