Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan

Ages of children: 8 and 13 years old

Schedule: Every other weekend, Friday at 6:00 p.m. through Sunday at 9:00 p.m., including overnight stays.

Typical Schedule:

• Friday: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Sunday: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Accommodations: Private bedroom provided during working weekends

Position Overview

An active family on the Upper East Side is seeking an energetic, proactive nanny / family assistant to provide support every other weekend. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and can bring both positive energy and a sense of structure to busy weekends.

Both children enjoy competitive soccer, and weekends often involve games, activities, and coordinating different schedules. The parents are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with them, take initiative, and help weekends run smoothly. The family also employs a weekday nanny and a housekeeper.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care and support the children’s safety and well-being.
• Plan engaging activities, outings, and opportunities for physical exercise.
• Coordinate soccer schedules and accompany the children to games and activities, including occasional trips outside the city.
• Support homework completion.
• Encourage reading, creative activities, and time away from devices.
• Prepare meals and snacks and encourage healthy eating habits.
• Assist with the children’s morning and bedtime routines.
• Help with family laundry, dishes, and daily tidying to keep the home organized.
• Run family-related errands 
• Communicate regularly with the parents and adapt as plans change.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional nanny experience.
• Experience caring for school-age children and supporting their growing independence.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Proactive in both planning and following through.
• Comfortable staying overnight during scheduled weekends.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing activity schedules.
• Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

Compensation

• + / – $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and credentials
• Guaranteed 29 hours of pay each weekend
