Live-In/Live-Out: Live-out
Compensation: $35–$50/hour, depending on experience and scope of duties
Child’s age: 10 months old
About the Family
A professional and welcoming family in Fort Greene is seeking a nurturing, experienced, and proactive nanny to care for their 10-month-old son. They’re looking for someone who is communicative, curious, kind, and creative – with recent experience caring for infants and toddlers. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to grow alongside the family and potentially expand the role to include household management duties if their nanny is interested in a hybrid role. Their primary goal is to find a loving and attentive nanny for their child.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare Duties:
- Engaging the child in fun, age-appropriate, and enriching activities that promote his learning and development
- Diaper changes and supporting healthy hygiene
- Sanitizing the child’s equipment (e.g, the stroller, highchair, bottles)
- Maintaining the child’s napping and feeding schedules
- Organize playdates, outings, and create enrichment opportunities
- Managing the child’s laundry and organizing his closets
- Restocking child-related supplies (e.g., the diaper bag, backpack, snacks)
- Bathtime routine
- Tidying the child’s bedroom, play area, kitchen, and shared spaces
- Preparing healthy meals for the child
- Bottle washing and sterilizing
Optional Household Management & Executive Assistant Tasks (at higher rate):
- Booking travel, appointments, and classes
- Making calls and sending emails
- Coordinating with contractors and service providers
- Managing household vendors (e.g., house cleaner)
- Weekly grocery shopping and occasional meal prep
- Managing dry cleaning and other errands
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Recent experience with infants and toddlers
- Strong communication skills
- A calm, warm, and positive demeanor
- Flexibility to grow with the family over 5+ years
- A college education is preferred but not required
- Interest in household or assistant duties is a plus, but not a requirement
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-time nanny experience
- Excellent relevant references
- CPR and Infant First Aid certified (or willing to get it renewed)
- Legally permitted to work in the U.S.
- Able to lift 30 pounds
Travel & Other Notes
- Occasional travel opportunities (e.g., San Francisco, London, Europe), though not required
- 1 cat in the home
- German is spoken in the home but not required of the nanny
