About the Family

A warm, welcoming family of three on the Upper East Side is seeking a dedicated and experienced live-in nanny to join their household. Mom is a Doctor with a demanding schedule, and the family is looking for someone who can bring structure, warmth, and reliability to the children’s daily lives while helping the home run smoothly.

The family values kindness, respect, and open communication. Their ideal candidate is proactive, safety-minded, discreet, and genuinely loves working with children.

Position Overview

For the live-in, full-time role, the schedule is Monday–Friday, 24/5, with general daytime hours of approximately 7:00am–7:00pm and additional evening coverage as needed. 

The live-out schedule will be approximately 7:30am – 7:30pm.

The nanny’s primary responsibility will be childcare. During school hours, household support is expected, including light housekeeping, family laundry, errands, meal preparation for the children, and pet care.

The family has a housekeeper who visits weekly for deep cleaning.

Key Responsibilities

• Morning and after-school routines: preparing breakfast, organizing school items, ensuring homework is completed
  
• Engaging the girls in fun, age-appropriate, and enriching activities that promote their learning and development
  
• Supervising homework, after-school activities, and playdates.
  
• Tidying children’s bedrooms, play areas, kitchen, and shared spaces
  
• Family laundry and general household organization
  
• Preparing simple, healthy meals for the children
  
• Running errands and occasional grocery shopping
  
• Help with the family’s two teacup poodles (dog walk once per day)
  

Accommodations

A private bedroom with elevator access is provided in a three-floor brownstone.

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: a base rate of approximately $37.00 per hour. Overtime will be paid at 1.5x the base rate after 40-44 hours, depending on the live-in or live-out schedule.
  
• PTO: 10 vacation days and 5 sick days annually
  
• Health Insurance: Monthly stipend provided
  
• Other Benefits: Paid holidays include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years; Required to work on federal holidays and will be compensated at 1.5x regular rate; MTA and toll reimbursement as applicable
  
• Salary reflects both active working hours and on-call availability; the nanny must remain on-site during working days 

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time nanny experience
  
• Experience working in high-net-worth households is preferred
  
• Professional, presentable, and discreet
  
• Organized, proactive, and adaptable
  
• Dog-friendly and comfortable, assisting with light pet care
  
• Flexible and dependable with schedule and coverage need
