Location: Oyster Bay, Long Island

General Schedule: Wednesday – Sunday

  • Wednesday – Friday: 12pmm–8:00pm 
  • Saturday and Sundays: 8:30am–4:30pm 
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Children: Two girls (2 years; 11 months) and a baby due late October 2025

Ideal start date: December 1, 2025 (open to earlier)

A loving family of 4, soon to be 5, is seeking an experienced, warm, and organized Nanny/Housekeeper who enjoys caring for infants and toddlers while keeping a home running smoothly. Both parents work full-time. 

Weekdays focus on household support while the children are at daycare; weekends shift to more hands-on childcare with age-appropriate activities, and meal prep and family support. 

Core Responsibilities

Childcare:

  • Morning/evening routines
  • Bottle prep/feeding; wash/sterilize bottles and equipment
  • Changing diapers and supporting healthy hygiene
  • Prepare and serve healthy, age‑appropriate meals and snacks
  • Tummy time, reading, and simple learning activities
  • Maintain and support nap/sleep schedules
  • Daycare/school pickups; accompany to appointments and classes; maintain a daily communication log
  • Restock nursery/kids’ supplies (diapers, wipes, formula, etc.) and manage children’s laundry

Household Support (Light Housekeeping & Organization)

  • Keep bedrooms, play areas, and bathrooms tidy; reset common areas daily
  • Family laundry; fold/put away; light ironing as needed
  • Load/unload dishwasher; clear and wipe kitchen counters, sweep/light vacuum 
  • Closet and toy organization; inventory/errands for child‑related needs; purchase gifts for parties
  • Cooking/Meal Prep: Prepare kid-friendly meals and cook simple, fresh family dinners (chicken, steak, fish, vegetables, grains). Comfort in the kitchen is a strong plus.

Weekly Flow Snapshot

  • Wed–Fri (10:00–6:00): Weekday focus on household operations while the children are at daycare (pickup sound 5:00pm), meal prep, laundry, organization, restocking, planning activities/menus; assist with afternoon pickup as needed.
  • Sat–Sun (8:30–4:30): ​​Weekend focus on childcare – breakfast through naps, bottles for the baby, age-appropriate play, backyard/park time; support family routines throughout the day. Perform light housekeeping as needed, especially when there are no childcare responsibilities (i.e., children are with their parents).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent, relevant experience
  • Experience working with infants
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to update)
  • Comfortable in the pool in case of an emergency (backyard pool)
  • Strong communicator who is comfortable asking questions and collaborating with parents
  • Confident driver with a valid driver’s license (family will provide a vehicle for on‑duty use)
  • Pet‑friendly (one medium-sized dog)
  • Organized, dependable, and proactive; takes initiative with household tasks

Nice-to-haves (not required): early childhood training/certifications; Spanish language skills; ability to travel occasionally (up to ~2 weeks/year)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay: $35+/hour gross DOE (paid hourly in compliance with domestic worker labor laws; overtime is 1.5× after 40 hours/week for live‑out roles)
  • Paid time off: 10 vacation days; 5 sick/personal days
  • Paid holidays: 10 major NY federal holidays

Additional: Health‑insurance stipend; commuter/toll reimbursement as applicable
