#547 – Nanny / Housekeeper in Long Island – 30 hrs per week

Location: The family is currently based in Syosset but plans to relocate to the Roslyn or Port Washington area later this year.

General Schedule: Ideally, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from approximately 8:30am – 6:30pm, though there is flexibility for the right candidate. Guaranteed 30 hours per week.

Children age: 15 months

Start Date: End of June/beginning of July

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Engage the child in age-appropriate activities
• Diaper changes and supporting overall healthy hygiene
• Bottle feedings, keeping the bottles and other equipment clean and sterilized
• Keep household stocked with child-related supplies
• Help anticipate household needs 
• Meal preparation for the child/kitchen cleanup
• Taking the child on walks, reading books, and other activities
• Keeping the main spaces of the home and the child’s play area and nursery clean and tidy. 
• Manage the household laundry, load/unload the dishwasher, and general light housekeeping
• Occasional errands (groceries, pharmacy, etc)

Qualities We’re Looking For:

• Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor
• Knowledgeable about child development and passionate about caring for children
• Clear communicator who works well with parents, building a direct rapport with mom
• Team player willing to pitch in as needed to help the household run smoothly 
• Occasional Weekend hours of availability are a plus but not a requirement

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of nanny experience
• Prior experience with a similar age group
• CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain/renew)
• 2-3 Valid references 
• Resides within a reasonable commuting distance to Syosset, Long Island
• Must be comfortable around a small dog

Compensation & Benefits:

• $35-40.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials
• PTO: 5 days of vacation and 3 sick days annually
