Full-Time Nanny Needed in Montclair, NJ

Location: Montclair, NJ

Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8/8:30 – 4/4:30 pm, and occasional date nights – once or twice a month for about 4 hours (5-9 or 6-10) on an agreed-upon day.

Child’s age: 2 months old at the start date

Ideal start date: March 20th or 24th, 2025

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Warm, kind, creative, playful, patient and gentle. 
  • Dedicated, proactive, neat, clean, organized, takes initiative, and is a quick learner.
  • Works well independently and as a part of the team with the parents.
  • Knowledgeable about child development and milestones (gross motor, fine motor, and sensory).
  • Appreciates and thrives on routine, detail-oriented, and can share knowledge and experience while respecting the parent’s decisions. 
  • Genuine interest in contributing to the healthy growth and development of the child cognitively, physically, and emotionally. 
  • Seeking a long-term position.

Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Engaging the child in age-appropriate activities (e.g., tummy time, singing, identifying objects, talking to the baby, etc.)
  • Help promote intellectual and social development, such as music, art, storytelling, and crafts. 
  • Diaper changes and maintaining healthy hygiene.
  • Maintaining the baby’s schedule (naps, feedings, playtime, etc.) 
  • Daily walks, weather permitting.
  • Child’s laundry.
  • Reading to the child.
  • Bottle feedings, including sterilization of bottles and other baby equipment.
  • Introducing solids and eventual full meal preparation for the child. 
  • Assisting with restocking essentials like diapers, wipes, and the diaper bag.
  • Keeping the child’s room and shared spaces clean and tidy.
  • Plan activities and playdates.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of nanny experience.
  • 3+ years of FT nanny experience with infants and toddlers.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to drive and have experience driving with children on the job.
  • 2–3 strong, relevant references.
  • Infant CPR certified (or willing to renew certification).
  • Up-to-date on vaccinations, including Tdap, MMR, COVID, and flu.
  • Must be comfortable with a cat in the home. 

Pluses but not requirements:

  • Mom is a former educator and appreciates credentials that include a background or education in early childhood development.
  • Experience with tongue-tie and different feeding techniques.

Compensation: $30.00 + per hour, depending on experience and credentials.

Benefits: Ten days of vacation, major holidays, and five sick days per year. Other benefits can be negotiated for the right candidate.
