Location: Murray Hill, NYC

Schedule: 

Friday: 3/4pm – 10pm

Saturday: 8am – 10pm

Sunday: 8am – 6pm

Guaranteed 30 hours per weekend. Flexibility is needed.

Age of the Child: 5 months old

The Ideal Candidate:

  • This position is ideal for a nanny seeking a long-term position weekend with a great family.
  • Proven knowledge and record of supporting developmental milestones, such as introducing solids and encouraging motor skills.
  • Someone punctual and reliable who maintains a professional demeanor while fostering a warm, nurturing atmosphere.
  • Trustworthy and honest, and builds strong relationships based on open communication.
  • Empathetic and nurturing, with a genuine love for children and their well-being.
  • Flexible with hours and ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Must love dogs (the family has two Frenchies)

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Everything involving the safety, care, and well-being of the child. .
  • Provide attentive care, including feeding, diaper changes, and maintaining hygiene.
  • Actively engaging the child in age-appropriate developmental activities, including interactive play, encouraging language development, and stimulating cognitive and motor skills.
  • Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones (e.g. transitioning to solids, learning to walk, etc).
  • Supporting healthy hygiene. Diaper changes, restocking diapers and wipes, and dressing the child.
  • Bottle feedings and the sterilization of the bottles and equipment.
  • Accompanying the child to outings.
  • Taking the child to the park, playdates, etc.
  • Works well in tandem with the weekday nanny for continuity of all things that she is doing, working on, etc. This is why Friday starts at 3 or 4pm…so there is a handoff transition before the weekday nanny leaves at 6pm.
  • Meal preparation for the child as she transitions to solids and clean-up after meals.
  • Organize, tidy and sanitize common areas and manage laundry related to the child.
  • Bedtime and bathtime routine.
  • Keeping the child’s room and the main spaces clean and tidy.
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding daily activities and any needs. Collaborate with parents on scheduling and practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant nanny experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with infants.
  • Legally permitted to work in the U.S.
  • 2-3 valid references
  • Must love dogs.
  • Infant First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to get it renewed.

Pluses but not requirements:

  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to stay overnight on occasion

Annual Salary: Competitive and determined by experience and credentials, starting at approximately $40 – $45 per hour.

Benefits: 5 days of PTO, 2 paid sick days, paid major holidays that land on a regularly scheduled work day, and other benefits such as a healthcare stipend can be negotiated for the right candidate.
