Full-Time Nanny needed in Soho, NYC – French Speaking Preferred
Location: Soho, NYC
Child’s age: 4 months old
Start date: end of June/beginning of July
General Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm, with flexibility for occasional later evenings approximately once per week.
The Ideal Candidate:
- This is a wonderful opportunity for a nanny who is emotionally intelligent, socially aware, proactive, and genuinely enjoys engaging with the child throughout the day through conversation, reading, singing, developmental play, outings, and routines.
- The family is specifically hoping to find a French-speaking nanny who will consistently speak French with their daughter throughout the day.
- The ideal candidate is warm, attentive, adaptable, organized, and naturally intuitive.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Everything related to the child’s overall care and well-being
- Plan and actively engage the child in fun, age-appropriate activities
- Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones
- Bottle feedings, milk storage management, and sterilization of the baby’s equipment
- Diaper changes and supporting healthy hygiene
- Maintaining the child’s nap and eating schedules
- Managing infant laundry and maintaining the organization of baby-related spaces
- Restocking child-related items and the diaper bag
- Walks, reading, singing, indoor and outdoor play
- Preparing meals once solids are introduced
- Bedtime and bathtime routines
- Taking the child to activities and playdates
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized child-related environment
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent full-time nanny experience with infants and toddlers
- Strong hands-on experience with infants ages 0-12 months
- Warm, engaging, calm, and attentive personality
- High emotional intelligence
- Strong communication skills with a professional and respectful demeanor
- Self-starter who naturally takes initiative and anticipates needs
- Knowledgeable about developmental milestones and infant engagement
- Someone who enjoys actively interacting with children through talking, narrating, reading, singing, and play
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
- Infant CPR and First Aid certified
- Excellent references
- Vaccinated: Tdap and MMR
While not a requirement, fluency in both English and French is highly preferred. A background in Early Childhood Education, ability to drive, flexibility for occasional evening support, and openness to domestic and international travel are all highly valued.
Compensation: Approximately $35-50 gross hourly, depending on experience, credentials, flexibility, and overall fit. Overtime is paid for hours worked over 40 per week.
