General schedule: This is a rotational schedule of 7-10 days on / 7-10 days off, alternating with another full-time nanny. Live-in during the week is preferred.
The position involves full-day coverage, with hours that may fluctuate depending on the baby’s wake windows, nap schedule, and occasional evening needs after the baby is asleep. Flexibility is key, especially when traveling or during transitions.
Travel: The family spends approximately three months each year in Brazil (February–April). During this time, the rotational nannies will alternate on a monthly basis, with each nanny joining the family for one month at a time. Additional travel may occur throughout the year, typically for about 1-3 weeks at a time.
Daily breaks are built in during nap times and evenings, and there is typically downtime while traveling or during quieter periods at home.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is warm, cheerful, and truly loves working with children. A background in child development or early childhood education/psychology is a plus. The family values someone responsible, grounded, and brings a happy, calming presence to the home.
Fluency in Portuguese is strongly preferred.

- Extensive experience with infants and toddlers
- Strong knowledge of developmental milestones
- A consistently positive and professional attitude
This position is ideal for a professional nanny seeking a long-term position with a family they can grow with for many years to come.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones (e.g., transitioning to solids, learning to walk, potty training, etc).
- Plan and actively engage the child in age-appropriate activities, including reading, creative play, and both indoor and outdoor exploration.
- Taking the child to activities and playdates.
- Diaper changes and supporting healthy hygiene.
- Bottle feedings and the sterilization of the bottles and equipment.
- Maintaining the child’s nap and eating schedules.
- Children’s laundry.
- Meal preparation for the child.
- Assistance with sleep training.
- Keeping the home’s main spaces and the child’s room clean and tidy.
- Maintain consistent communication with the parents, including a daily log of routines, activities, and observations.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of recent full-time nanny experience with infants and toddlers
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- 2–3 exceptional references from recent nanny roles
- Comfortable with international and domestic travel
- COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted
- Infant CPR certified (or willing to renew prior to start date)
- Experience in a comparable role is strongly preferred, particularly with ROTA schedules, live-in positions, or within high-net-worth homes.
- Flexible with the schedule and works well independently and on a team
Portuguese-speaking is a huge advantage.
Compensation: Competitive pay, starting at $3,850 – $5,500 + per rotation (gross), depending on experience and qualifications and the number of consecutive working days (7-10 days). Compensation is paid legally on the books (W-2) and reflects full-day, live-in responsibilities during working weeks.
