Location: Upper East Side, NYC

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday–Friday or Monday–Saturday (based on mutual preference)

Children’s age: currently 11 months old

  • Knowledgeable in child development, early childhood education, or child psychology (a strong plus)
  • Portuguese-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and facilitating age-appropriate, enriching, and engaging activities to support the child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Reading to the child, encouraging language development, outdoor walks, and play-based learning
  • Putting the child down for naps, soothing him back to sleep, and assisting with bedtime and bathtime routines. 
  • Preparing and introducing solid meals, bottle feeding, and sterilizing feeding equipment (including breast pump parts)
  • Diapering and overseeing all aspects of the child’s hygiene
  • Managing the child’s laundry and keeping the nursery and main living areas tidy and sanitized
  • Attending activities with the child, including accompanying the child and mother to swim lessons
  • Occasional travel with the family.

The family is ideally seeking a nanny who is happy to pitch in and help keep the household running smoothly. Responsibilities include tasks such as occasional assistance with family laundry and making the beds. The salary will reflect the willingness to participate in additional responsibilities for candidates who are open to a broader support role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of full-time nanny experience, specifically with infants and toddlers
  • Excellent references from previous long-term positions
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Up-to-date on all relevant vaccinations (including Tdap, flu, COVID, MMR)
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to renew prior to start)
  • Flexibility to work on hoolidays is a major plus

Compensation: $35–$45+ per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and scope of responsibilities. Legal pay on a W-2 with overtime for hours worked beyond 40 per week.
