A Nanny Match Jobs

A creative and loving family in Park Slope, Brooklyn, is seeking a compassionate and engaging nanny for their two daughters, ages 11 and 13 years old. 

Typical Work Schedule:  Monday – Thursday, 3 pm to 7 pm; Friday, 11 am to 6 pm (or another weekday by mutual agreement)  Potential for longer hours during school holidays, as agreed with Employee and subject to the Additional Compensation listed below.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Daily Activities

   1. Pick up from school.  

   2. Engaging the children in age-appropriate activities, including creative art and physical exercise.

   3. Snack prep/dinner prep.

   4. Taking and picking up children to/from after-school activities and camps/activities during school holidays

   5. Supervising and enforcing homework tasks after school

   6. Light housework in common areas of the house

2. Household Management

   1. admit professionals (e.g. cleaners, repairmen, painters) to house

   2. maintain supply of household items (e.g. paper towels, light bulbs, laundry detergent)

   3. purchase school supplies/books if needed for school.

3. Weekly conference calls with Employer to discuss children’s progress in school and/or activities and to plan activities for the coming week.

4. Helping to plan activities for summer and school holidays

5. Monitor girls’ clothing needs – rotate seasonal wardrobes, escalate to Employer when new clothes or shoes might be needed and with approval, order clothing items.

6. Tutoring children (if agreed to by all parties and subject to additional compensation)

7. Discipline/Guidance:

   1. Enforce parental boundaries on screen time, junk food, and other behaviors.

   2. set age-appropriate boundaries and expectations

   3. support parents’ discipline philosophy

   4. handle discipline in an affirming, respectful way.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant nanny experience and will be reliable, punctual, proactive, creative, patient, and a great communicator. 

Must be cat friendly. The family has one short-haired cat. 

Requirements:

3+ years of relevant nanny experience. 

Legally permitted to work in the U.S. 

Clean background check.

2-3 references.

Vaccinated. 

Salary: $35 - 37.00 + gross hourly 

Benefits: 10 paid vacation days a year, 5 paid sick days a year, paid major holidays.
