A Nanny Match Jobs

A loving family in Dumbo, Brooklyn, seeks a warm, proactive, and engaging full-time nanny for their son, age 18 months old.  Occasional care is needed for their 8-year-old son when he is home from afterschool activities. 

This general schedule is as follows:

• Monday and Friday from 8:30 am - 6:30 pm

• Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 am - 7 pm. 

Description of the Role:

• The successful candidate will be someone who has worked with the toddler age range and understands the milestones, potty training, and how to engage the child educationally.  Be full of energy to keep up with the toddler!  

• The duties include, but are not limited to, 

  • Nurturing the child and his development

  • Planning activities (walks, reading, indoor and outdoor play) and play dates

  • Meal prep

  • Laundry and light housekeeping; keeping the main spaces of the home and the children’s room clean and tidy

  • Running errands as needed (e.g., grocery store)

  • Taking an overall proactive approach to ensure that the household is running smoothly is essential.

• The candidate should be okay with both parents working from home.  This is an extremely nice family and the prior nanny had been there for many years.  

• They travel occasionally and would want the nanny to be comfortable and willing to stay overnight in their home with the toddler while the rest of the family is away.

• The family is seeking someone who is looking for longevity and wants to grow with them.  This position is solely for the care of their 18 month old, however, they do have an eight year old son, and they would like the candidate to be open to caring for both children when necessary.  

• The family would like the candidate to have a positive, proactive attitude towards the job.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience with children ages 18 months old and up and will be proactive, warm, engaging, honest, organized, patient, calm under pressure, helpful, knowledgeable about child development, enthusiastic about nurturing the children’s interests and have excellent communication skills and excellent references.

The family has a small hypoallergenic Golden Doodle.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant FT nanny experience.

• Legally permitted to work in the U.S. 

• 2-3 valid references. 

• Covid vaccinated.

• Clean background check.

• The ability to stay overnight in NY a few weeks out of the year. 

Salary: approximately $25 NET (take-home) per hour. 

Benefits: Two weeks of vacation, paid major holidays, 5 sick days per year, and a monthly metro card reimbursement.
