An active and welcoming family in Westchester is seeking a warm, proactive, and organized Family Assistant to join their family in helping the household run smoothly. 

The caretaking component involves caring for the family’s sweet special needs dog and caring for their toddler when he is not in school.

The child has developmental delays though he is active and is verbal, and can communicate with his family and caretakers. He goes to school and occupational therapy during the week and continues to make significant progress.

This position starts in January.

The ideal schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5 / 6:00 pm with a 30-minute break during the day.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Driving the child to and from school and activities. 

• Caretaker for the family dog, keeping a watchful eye on him, maintaining his hygiene, administering his medication (pills), feeding him and giving him water, cleaning up after he does his business, and occasional walks when mom is not around.

• Overseeing vendors and contractors that come to the home.

• Keeping schedules organized.

• Light meal preparation for the child or family when needed. 

• Assistance with running errands and getting groceries.

• Assistance with maintaining the child’s hygiene. 

• Restocking household items.

• Actively engage with the child throughout the day to provide a stimulating, interactive, educative and loving environment. 

• Organization of the home.

• Keeping the main spaces clean and tidy.

The ideal candidate will have a calm demeanor and will be able to take the initiative and work well independently and on a team, will be a caregiver by nature and loves animals and children, and will be dependable, organized, resourceful, patient, and understanding.

REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years of relevant experience.

Legally permitted to work in the U.S. 

Driver’s license and experience driving with children.

Experience working with dogs or being a dog owner. 

Clean background check.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

2-3 relevant references. 

Covid - Vaccinated.

Salary: $35.00 - 45.00 + gross per hour.

Benefits: 9 days of paid vacation, 5 sick/personal days, 10 paid holidays, and other benefits can be negotiated, such as a healthcare stipend.
