** POSITION FILLED ** #455 - NCS/Night Nurse Needed in Syosset, Long Island

New parents in Syosset, New York, are seeking a patient, warm, and experienced Newborn Care Specialist / Night Nurse for their first child, due mid-March 2024.
The start date will be approximately March 12th. The contract will be for 8 weeks, possibly extending to 12 weeks if mutually agreed upon.
The general schedule is 7pm - 7am, Monday through Friday. There is flexibility to adjust the overnight hours depending on the baby's needs and sleep schedule.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Everything involving the safety, care, and well-being of the child.

Guiding the parents on best care practices while supporting the parent’s decisions.

Help create a sleep and feeding schedule.

Diaper and clothes changes as needed

Maintaining overall healthy hygiene of the baby.

The baby’s laundry.

Equipment sterilization.

Keeping the baby’s room and bathroom clean and tidy.

Helping to maintain a clean and sterile environment for the baby.

Keeping a daily log documenting the baby’s sleeping and eating routines and health and behavioral patterns.

Providing a list of suggestions for the baby’s room and baby-related products.
The right candidate will have 5+ years of experience as an NCS / Night Nurse and will be responsible, reliable, extremely knowledgeable about newborn care and safety, will take initiative, have a positive and calm demeanor, and will be attentive, nurturing, and actively engaged with the baby.
A major plus is nursing experience.
The family has a friendly four-year-old Corgi. The NCS is not responsible for the pup but must feel comfortable around small to medium-sized dogs.
Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant NCS/ Night Nurse experience.

Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

Neat, clean, orderly.

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent references.

Trained in Infant CPR and First Aid.

Fully Vaccinated (covid, Tdap, Flu, MMR)

Ability to commute to and from work and live within a reasonable distance.
Preference will be given to candidates who live in Queens or Long Island and can make the daily commute and candidates with backgrounds in health care and nursing.
Compensation: Approximately $40.00 an hour, depending on experience.
Gas, toll, or train fare reimbursement.
