** POSITION FILLED ** #444 - Part-Time Nanny needed for ...

A new, loving mother on the UES of Manhattan is seeking a PT nanny to help her care for her adopted 2.5-year-old little girl.

Mom is a physician and has 2 overnight shifts per month and a 24-hour shift one weekend per month. An experienced, loving Nanny is needed to care for the child in mom’s absence.

The hours needed are as follows:

  • 2 weekday overnight shifts per month from 5:00 pm - 8:30 am the following day. (13.5 hours)

For the candidate seeking extra hours, there is flexibility to work 4 weekday overnight shifts per month.

  • 1 Saturday per month from 8:00am to Sunday 8:30 am. (24.5 hours)

Please note: The schedule will be confirmed a few months in advance.

The two weekdays per month will change according to the Mother's work schedule at the hospital.

They will try to keep as much consistency as possible with the days of the week and week of the month, but the weekday is likely to change with time.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

  • Pick up from daycare at 5:00pm

  • Bathtime routine

  • Bedtime routine

  • Reading stories

  • Feeding the child meals

  • Clean up after meals

  • Packing lunches and snacks

  • Getting the child dressed and ready for school the next morning

  • Diaper changes and supporting healthy hygiene

  • Playing games, taking the child to the park, and engaging with the child in age-appropriate activities.

  • Keeping the main spaces and child’s room clean and tidy

The child has her own bedroom. The nanny will have the main living area of the apartment to herself with a sleeper sofa for the overnights.

The child was adopted in May of 2023. She loves people and is very social, though she has suffered trauma early in her life, and the nanny needs to have patience and understanding. Experience with children who have suffered from trauma is a plus, though it’s not a requirement.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of nanny experience with children of a similar age

  • 2-3 valid references

  • Clean background check

  • Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

  • Accessible to the UES

  • Ability to commit to at least a year - preferably more.

  • Covid vaccinated and up to date with other routine vaccinations such as the flu shot.

Compensation: $30.00 - 50.00 an hour, depending on experience, credentials, flexibility and the agreed-upon schedule.
