Full-Time Nanny Needed in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn- 6-Month Contract

Location: Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn

Start Date: Approximately December 6th. 

End Date: End of May/ Beginning of June. There is some flexibility with the start and end dates. The position ends in June, when the family will go away for three months. 

Age of the Child: the child will be 6 months old in December. 

General schedule: Monday through Friday from approximately 8:30 am -  4:30pm. Slightly earlier or later scheduled start and end times are flexible if needed by the right candidate.

The Ideal Candidate:

• This position is ideal for a nanny seeking a role with a wonderful family and one infant for 6 months from December 2024/early January 2025 through the end of May/beginning of June 2025.

• The family is looking for a nanny with significant experience caring for infants aged 6-12 months, who is well-versed in child development and passionate about helping children reach their developmental milestones in a positive, nurturing manner.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work alongside parents working hybrid schedules. 

• Someone who is comfortable with small dogs. Occasional short walks with the family dog, a chihuahua/dachshund mix. 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Actively engaging the child in age-appropriate developmental activities, including tummy time, interactive play, encouraging language development, and stimulating cognitive and motor skills. Willingness to sit on the floor, play with him, and respond to his cues.

• Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones (e.g. transitioning to solids, learning to walk, etc).

• Daily walks in the stroller and engage him in outdoor activities.

• Diaper changes and supporting healthy hygiene.

• Bottle feedings and the sterilization of the bottles and equipment.

• Keeping a daily record of feeding times, nap schedules, and developmental milestones.

• Child's laundry.

• Meal preparation for the child as he transitions to solids, and ensures proper clean-up after meals.

• Keeping the home's main spaces and the child’s room clean, sanitized and tidy.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant nanny experience with infants.

• Vaccinated (COVID, flu, RSV, TDAP)

• Legally permitted to work in the U.S. 

• 2-3 relevant references. 

• Resides within a reasonable commuting distance from Brooklyn Heights.

Compensation: The hourly rate starts at $30.00 per hour or higher, depending on the right candidate's experience, flexibility, and credentials.
