5 Ways to Celebrate Your Nanny During Nanny Recognition Week

This year, National Nanny Recognition Week is September 19th-25th.
National Nanny Recognition Week began in 1998 as a way to recognize the valuable and influential role that nannies play in the lives of American families. Started by individuals within the in-home childcare industry, National Nanny Recognition Week recognizes and celebrates nannies across the United States.
National Nanny Recognition Week is a time to celebrate the wonderful work nannies do and the difference they make in the lives of the children in their care and the families they work with.
If you currently employ a nanny, here are five ways to celebrate their hard work during this week:
1. National Nanny Association
Provide your nanny with the resources, community, and support of a professional nanny organization such as the International Nanny Association. For just $35, you can gift your nanny an individual membership to the INA.
2. Have the children make her a special gift
There is nothing better than a homemade, special gift created by your nanny kids. For a list of ideas, head to our National Nanny Recognition Week Pinterest Board!
3. Share a meal with your nanny
Consider taking your nanny out to dinner or cooking them a meal at home to celebrate. This quality time will mean so much to your family and your nanny.
4. A surprise day off
Show your nanny just how much they mean to you by surprising them with a paid day off! Many nannies work long hours and often don’t get off work until the bank, the doctor’s office, and other important venues are closed. Whether they spend the day at the spa or simply relaxing on the couch, they’ll appreciate it so much!
5. Make a video
Get the family together and create a video that expresses your appreciation for your nanny. Do a skit, sing a song, or share a thank you. Email it to her and post it on your social networking page as a token of thanks.
